Methyl Acetate
Methyl acetate is a colorless, transparent liquid with an aromatic smell. The solubility in water at 20℃ is 31.9g/100 ml water, and it is miscible with alcohol and ether. It is easily hydrolyzed to generate acetic acid, making the solution acidic. It decomposes into acetaldehyde and formaldehyde when heated at high temperatures, and can further decompose into methane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
